30 Days of Ramadaan Challenge {Day 1: Speak Good or Keep Silent}
Ramadhaan kareem to all, may we all reap the full benefits of this month, may Allah have mercy on us all and may we come out of this month with all our sins forgiven. Ameen.
So since tomorrow is Ramadhaan for most part of the world, we will kick off our challenge with working on implementing the hadith “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or keep silent.” (Bukhari)
Generally I know we try to speak good and try to be kind and caring towards others. However, sometimes we indulge in ‘vain talk’ or just ‘small talk’ as you might say. Random stuff which isn’t really necessary.
If i were to speak for my self sometimes I feel my heart hardening because that time wasted could have been used towards remembering Allah, or saying something useful, etc…or not saying anything at all but rather listening and thinking. I know none of us here are monks and monasticism and cutting oneself off from the dunya is definitely not part of Islam. However, sometimes I feel like I’m so used to the dunya that I definitely forget the hereafter.
So inshaAllah lets try to work on this goal. If you have any tips etc, please share
Salaam,
I love your 30 day challenge. And the first day challenge is something which I really need to work on coz I am known for making small talk every now and then. So I shall keep in mind to “speak good or remain silent” . Looking forward for more. Thanks for the lovely work.
Regards,
Sam
